How Many Engineers Does It Take to Get to 1.5 Billion Documents?
We just announced a shiny new milestone: Over 1.5 Billion Documents Indexed
Of course, we're very proud of this stat, but we are even more proud of the people that got us there.
Kevin Clark and Shaneal Manek started the ball rolling last fall. Aaron Sarazan and Stefan Praszalowicz joined shortly after.
We've mentioned Aaron before, but never properly introduced him.
We managed to lure him away from every 13-year-old's dream job as a Game Engineer in North Carolina with promises of Greplin t-shirts and grilled cheese. He's not just good at RockBand but also a member of an actual Rock Band, The Bristol 7s. And lest he stray too far from his inner geek, he's released their debut album, the Narwhalingus EP, on Github for your forking and remixing pleasure. When the Greplin iPhone app emerges and subsequently changes your life, it'll be Aaron you have to thank.
Stefan is hacker #4.
He won the U.S. visa lottery, moved to San Francisco and we snapped him up before any other startup could steal him away. You can tell he is awesome because these are the topics he follows on Quora: Physics, Warfare and The Big Questions. Throw in his French accent and he may be cooler than all of us combined. Stefan brings his diverse engineering talents to everything from stats to development process to text analysis. But we are most excited for the moment when his cocker spaniel, Vizir, arrives from France and joins our office dog pack. And here they are together, cashing in on their long promised Greplin schwag.
